Need some advise on nut and bridge height

Thanks to Ken who answered my question on Planetary gear tuners I ordered them and they are installed.

At the same times I ordered new nut and bridge from Folkcraft as McSpaddon did not offer them, at least not that I could find on their site.  They came and are 1 1/2" wide and 1/8" thick by about 3/8" deep so the bottom can be adjusted to the correct height by sanding. Is there an initial measurement that I should start with on both the nut and bridge ? The measurement from the bottom of the string groves in the nut/bridge to the top of the fret board. I am thinking I need somewhere close to start. Thanks for you help in advance.
