Wood Identification Question

Hi everyone,  so I read about and have gotten into the whole re-use/re-purpose wood thing.  And the dulcimer I'm building will be constructed totally from salvaged wood.  Back, sides, peghead, tailblock and possibly the finger board will be cherry from a trash-picked broken table.  But the soundboard is the question.   A family friend had some live edge planks of varying sizes sitting in the hallway for years.  Asked me to take them with the comment that it was white ash, but that was later reduced to "Don't remember what it is."  After looking at lots of pics of lumber, my guess is that it may be poplar.   Anyway, here's a pic of the soundboard.
