What kind of wood

I am totally new at this game. I have plenty of tools and wood working experience .

The only wood I have is a lot of red oak ,eastern red cedar and cypress . I probably can get some black walnut . I have a good amount of black walnut growing on my place .I will look to find a dead one that is already seasoned .

I thought about just using the red oak for my try since that is what I have the most of.
