Length of commercial straps

I am in the process of weaving a strap for my first mountain dulcimer.  It will have a 26" VSL.  I was hoping someone here could measure the length of their commercial strap so I know how long I should weave mine.  I am attaching leather strap button tabs and placing a quick release clip on it as well.  I have woven some straps for both my ukuleles and a Seagull Merling and am always surprised when I weave them a bit longer than needed.
