"Heritage" is finished!

I just finished building my all-wormy-chestnut dulcimer, and have named it "Heritage". I named it that because the wood that it's made from came from the floor joists of a 100-year-old store in Pennsylvania (Thanks, Marvin R.!). The dulcimer has straight sides, in an inverted kite shape.

The back is made of several thin chestnut strips butted together, and they remind me of a woodfloor you'd see in a Cracker Barrel restaurant or an old general store. The wood is beautiful, with many small worm holes and some oxidized nail holes here and there as well.

It's my first air-conditioned dulcimer! So many holes to let the sound out... Speaking of sound, the music is nice coming out of it. I tried to record a song, but my digital camera DIED completely! So-- no sound clips OR still photos yet, at least not until I buy another camera. SORRY!
