I live in Albquerque, NM. I work as a computer technician for Albuquerque Public Schools. I have played the dulcimer off and on since 1980 but have never advanced very far. I like to play on just the melody strings as that's the way I self taught back in the 80's. I really don't like the modern style of playing as I don't feel the power of the music. I think that the way dulcimers are being played now is too far from traditional.
Welcome Tom G to Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. Glad you joined. The beauty of this forum is that all styles of play are encouraged and supported. This is a great place to learn and to seek support and advice. Make music and many new dulcimer friends. Best wishes on your dulcimer journey.
Welcome, Tom, to this little corner of dulcimer heaven. Hope you enjoy it here.

Hi Tom, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.
