Thank you all for your kind words of welcome and encouragement!  I'm wondering if there are one or two favorite youtube videos anyone could recommend showing how the mountain dulcimer ought to be played.  I found a wonderful instrument made by Thomas Barr from Galax VA. in a local thrift store.  I love it's sound and would love to learn some simple songs.  This site is a wonderful resource.

Hi Veek, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer.  It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.

Ben

Glad you joined Veekster. Welcome to Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. You have come to the right place to find whatever information you need and to get some help as you need it. We are here to support each other so be sure to ask questions as you have them. I sort of doubt there are many dulcimer players in Idaho.
