Greetings and welcome to FOTMD!
Our site is fairly expansive, and might be a little daunting to find one's way around at first.

Note that you will only see the full content of threads in special interest Groups if you JOIN a 'group' here on fotmd. Joining a Group is easy with a click, as is UNjoining it.
Aside from Groups we have here for special interests, there are many Forums you can read and post in as well- click on the main link for FORUMS to see various subject categories. We even have a Forum just for questions about navigating and using the site!: https://fotmd.com/forums/forum/site-questions-how-do-i
Feel free to start a new thread about a subject you'd like to discuss in a Forum or in a Group that seems to be related to the subject. That way, you'll get many more views and responses from other members- more people will then see your posts as opposed to just posting back and forth on people's profile page comment walls. Folks here are friendly and love to talk and help. grphug
Again- welcome!  bananawave

Old Dawg, thanks for shrinking the size of those photos. You will get a better response to you question if move it into one of the forums and start a new thread. My suggestion is to place in the Instruments - Discuss Specific Features, etc. Click on the plus sign in the upper right hand corner to start your new thread. You should be able to copy and paste what you put on my home page and use it to start the new thread.

John Stockard was a good builder of mountain dulcimers. You dulcimer looks to be in excellent condition. I have no idea how many dulcimers he made. I know he marketed a dulcimer stand that allowed one to play the dulcimer while standing up. It was quite popular. Also, I don't know how desirable his instruments are now. Any value I would put on one his instruments would just be a guess on my part.

Welcome to FOTMD, Old Dawg. You will find of lot of things happening in the dulcimer world by reading through the forums here. Post some photos of your dulcimer and folks here will try to give you information about it. Restoring concert grand pianos sounds challenging. I look forward to your participation here.
