I have been playing mountain dulcimer for 25 years and have been teaching mountain dulcimer and guitar from my home for the past 15 years. Genres that I enjoy include Bluegrass, Gospel, traditional Folk and 70's, 80's music. I was one of the founding Board members and organizers of Autumn Acoustics Music Festival during its existence from 2002 until it ended in 2007.
I live on a farm in Hillsboro, MO with my husband of 37 years, Roy. We enjoy Music festivals, jamming, horseback riding, RV camping, fishing, hiking, biking,,,,pretty much anything outdoors! We have 4 dogs, 4 cats and 3 1/2 horses (3 Arabians and one Shetland!)
Welcome Beverly. You are promised that you will not be sorry you stumbled upon FOTMD.
Happy strumming,
Terry
What a nice welcome! Thank you everyone for making me "feel at home". I am not even sure how I found this site or what I was searching for at the time. I have been using everythingdulcimer.com for years as my "clearinghouse" for all that is dulcimer. I have not had time yet to explore FOTMD website, but it seems like it is anorganized, thorough, and friendly place for everything mountain dulcimer! That is the big difference, we are all MOUNTAIN dulcimer pickers, how cool!
Welcome, Beverly, to this little corner of dulcimer heaven. Hope you enjoy it here.
Rob
Hello and welcome to the site. This is a great place to share ideas and listen to music. I hope you enjoy!
Hi Beverly, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn and exchange ideas about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people. What a musical influence that must have been to your unborn sons.
Ben
