Hi Bhixon, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer.  It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.

Ben

So glad you joined. Bhixon624. Welcome to Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. Kenl has offered you some great advice about the dulcimer you found among your family's things. I look forward to seeing your pictures of it. Do be cautious that your picture files are not too large when you upload them. Best wishes as you study what to do with the dulcimer you found.

Welcome to FOTMD, Bhixon624. It's good to have you aboard. Post photos of the dulcimer in question and we will try to give you information about it. Are you sure you don't want to keep it and learn to play it? Look in the sound holes and see if there is label with information about the maker. I find that many people tend to over value their dulcimers and few get the crazy prices listed on some eBay auctions. We can offer opinions and advice. The rest is up to you. I look forward to seeing the dulcimer in question.
