This is my first day playing the mountain dulcimer. This dulcimer was built by David "Harpmarker" Lynch from Sweet Woods Instruments. The song that I am play...
Way to go Bryant. I had my dulcimer for 2 years or more now. Played, enjoyed and NOW back to it again. I missed it. You are off to a great start. Video already. Thats a great secret to remember. Share, share and share more. That makes you learn more and other here, who, by the way are great!!! will help you along the way.
I look forward to sharing with you as you grow in this hobby and talant. I am learning also and I can see that you will most likley teach me a lot. Take care God Bless and don't get discouraged. Just enjoy!!!
Enjoy you sweet beginnings, I am and I think your dulcimer sounds very nice and you did wonderfully for a first day playing. I wish you many more to come.
This is so nice, Bryant! A great video to record your very first day playing the dulcimer! I was impressed with the steadiness of your playing. As long of you love it, you will makes heaps of progress. Keep asking questions and we'll do all we can to help you on this journey.
You're off to a great start, Bryant. I have one of David Lynch's student model dulcimers, too. The only thing "student" about it is the affordable price. But it's a great instrument that plays as well as instruments three times the price.
Sounds like a great start to me! Please don't feel that you "have" to strum in the strum hollow area all of the time. If you strum between the two larger sound holes, you will discover a totally different sound. I wish that someone would have told me that on my first day. Best of luck on your new dulcimer journey!
