It teaches them how to use a tape measure, read plans, help each other, and use hand tools etc. Not one of them did his dulcimer by himself , one day we made frames, one day made the fretboards and the next glued and toward the end they stained and sanded their own a lot of fun.
wish kids all around country could get turned on to them that way......good constructive fun
I had a ball with them, it sure is a learning curve. It took us two years to build them, because we did other
projects in between to learn to use tools, for instance a coping saw. We could not use power tools at the school.
