Is there an option to order replies from oldest to newest ?

Site QUESTIONS ? How do I...?

Hi Nicolas!  I’m new at this myself. I like the idea of the first comment/response being at the top of the thread. There’s a scenario I wonder if the reverse order would be of benefit. Let’s say you’re following a discussion. If you get a notification that there is a new comment in a discussion you’re following, you open the link, I think you’d initially see the title of the discussion and the oldest (first) comment/response, then have to scroll down to see the most recent response. But I think I get what you’re saying. It’s easier to follow a conversation from beginning to end and it’s less likely you’ll miss information.
I know that doesn’t help your question/comment. Maybe someone knows if there’s a toggle that reorganizes the time line.

How do I create a new forum discussion?

Site QUESTIONS ? How do I...?

I promise I won't ask anymore questions after this one that doesn't pertain to starting a new discussion!! Responding to comments - I want to respond to each of your comments. I tapped Ken's name and saw the circle thing that that usually has words in it. Does that mean when I go to the top and type my response and post it, it'll have the @Ken which notifies him he has a response to his comment?

How do I create a new forum discussion?

Site QUESTIONS ? How do I...?

I need clarification of the differences between Groups, Forums and Threads. My initial impression is:

1.  Groups pertain to a specific interest. Within groups there are threads. I should choose the correct thread pertaining to the topic of my question/comment then make a post.

2.  Forums is a "Group" that pertains to multiple topics that contain threads. Again, I should search the appropriate thread that addresses what I want to talk about, then make a post.

3.  Groups do not contain Forums and Threads.

4.  You can start a new thread within both Groups and Forums.

If there is a tutorial about how to use the different functions of this website I could really use the help.

Any comments on my statements above will be appreciated       Thanks

Fret necessary?

Instruments- discuss specific features, luthiers, instrument problems & questions

I'm not sure if you mean a totally fretless fretboard or no half frets so I'll give thoughts on both possibilities. I've only played for 1 1/2 years. In that time I've experimented with noters in varying sizes and materials(wood, metal, plastics, glass). Throughout my experiments I discovered several things. I could immediately rule out a material by how well it slides. If there's too much drag it's out. If it absorbs too much string vibration it's out. I started getting frustrated and that's when I started hitting frets with my noter as I would slide. I had totally lost focus on how I was holding the noter. At that point I started reading about fretless fretboards. I decided against it because I realized the value of landmarks. There's a sweet spot within each fret to aim for. My current noter is a 1/4 inch delrin rod. I use a thumb on top index finger support underneath that slides along the fretboard. Fret bumping is a thing of the past!

I am a diehard diatonic player. My Dulcimer does not have 1/2 frets. I have over 100 songs in my personal tab library all either original DAA or ones I've transposed to DAA. I have played DAA on a chromatic instrument and was confounded by fret spacing.

It is completely logical to keep options open for tunings and or mode that 1/2 frets offer. And the flexibility while playing in a group is almost a necessity!
