The Galax dulcimer has a rich history in old-time music, originating in Galax, VA. Made of wormy chestnut, 4 equal distant strings, all tuned to dddd. Played with a noter, noting the first 2 strings. False back. False nut for drones   made by Don. Scale length 25 ¾” nut width 1 1/4.”  Custom, heavily padded Thistledew case/bag. If you know Don’s work you’ll appreciate how special this dulcimer is! I’ve been privileged to own it, but I’ve never played it.
