Thanks for all your comments.... I do pick and strum all over the fret-board....depending on what kind of sound that I am looking for. I try to use that to advantage and provide some variety. Its kind of hard on the edges of the fret-board,,,but hey....my objective is to play music....not to have an instrument in absolutely perfect condition. One of my teachers maintains "whatever feels right for YOU". I believe that philosophy truly reflects the "original spirit" and simplicity of the Mountain Dulcimer. Could be the subject of an entire debate!!!!
Not sure what a possum board is.....but...as the instrument rests on the arms of the chair, it amplifies the bass strings a lot. I can actually feel the chair vibrate with the bass which is kinda neat too. I just happen to be the right dimensions physically to match the chair and the instrument. It was quite a pleasant surprise when I first discovered the effect! Thanks for your comments. Cheers
Very sweetly played Gerald, I like how you are able to use the arms of your deck chair to rest your dulcimer, I wonder if they act as a "possum board".

I like your easy going way and the chirping birds in the background...a heavenly way to spend a morning or afternoon!!

Some times....the stars and the moon just line up and magic happens!
I love your gentle version of this, and how you switch between high and low. And the sun, the chair, the birds in the background... all so very nice!

Very nicely played Gerald. You have a great setting to play at.
