I was an owner of a shop that built dulcimers in the 1970's and 80's. This was Musical Traditions. I had been selling them for quite a few years and found them to be great dulcimers. Then we, John Rourke, Chris Hecht and myself, purchased the company, jigs and procedures, from Hank Levin. Chris was a furniture maker with a great shop. John was a customer of GF from Balfour, B.C. who wanted to get into instrument building. I was the entrepreneur who could put the deal together and then market and sell them. We moved it up to Sandpoint, Id., where I was living and had the company Guitars Friends. In the 80's it was also the home for Franklin Guitars, Givens Guitars and Mandolins, plus a few other luthiers. During this time we sold thousands of them.
Hi Guirars Friend and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.

Hey Guitars Friend, welcome aboard. Glad ya found us.
Welcome to FOTMD Guitars Friend. I have a Musical Traditions dulcimer, but I think it was one of Hank Levins. I look forward to seeing your images and stories. I met Hank a few times at the House of Musical Traditions both in Maryland and West Virginia.
