I just bought a Hedrick dulcimer at Dulcimer Week in the Wallowas last week. I have fallen in love with the instrument all over again! I love its size and shape and the tone is clear as a bell. Makes this beginner sound good! I am learning Steve Eulberg's Black Tail Weasel on it and it was so inspiring to practice that tune on my new instrument. Thanks, John, for your incredible work!
Thank you for your interest in the instruments that I built. On the far right is a lute guitar. I must confess that I did not make this particular instrument. The guitar is a regular 6 string nylon with gear pegs and a lute-style back. This style was popular in Germany in the early 20th century. The remaining instruments in the line are of my design/build. My wife played the guitar as a folk singer in the 70's. It is hard to hold but has a beautiful, rich sound.
