Commissioned special build for customer in Colorado. Norwegian Langeleik. she wanted to honor her Norway ancestry. 7 drone strings. Frets under the single melody string. Small removable nuts that can be placed under drone strings to change tuning quickly and simply.
Irene, Thanks so much for the uplifting comments. So glad you found some helpful info.
When I first started building my dulcimers I learned everything I know from YouTube postings and there was mention of "Compensated Bridge Setting. I think my early angles were perhaps a little severe it may have something to do with string gauge as well as the VSL. I don't remember but it seems to be working! John
thank you sooooooooo much for showing us your "builds" I find one thing common in most of your photos of the bridge. they are slanted. When I couldn't get my last dulcimer to be "just quite in tune".....I remembered your photos and put my bridge like this and WALAAAAA, in tune. So not only are your dulcimers beautiful and all so very different....there much to teach in a photo and photos. aloha, irene
