I don't know if I'll ever be good enough to play my dulcimer in front of anyone, but it brings me peace, so I'll continue to play. I am working on chord-style playing and fingerpicking, and I love the sound of the arpeggios on the dulcimers. Angel music.
I've been married for 53 years (I was a child bride ) to a wonderful man who feeds my music habit. I have to be careful about what I tell him I like or I'll find before long that I own it!
I've been playing banjo for a number of years. A couple of years ago I changed from Scruggs style to clawhammer and I'm so much happier. And in my mind this style seems to exist more peacefully with dulcimers.
I recently added 2 Ron Gibson dulcimers to my collection, and they are so beautiful to look at and listen to as I play.
I am one happy and grateful woman.
