Thank you for all of the nice welcome messages. Sorry I haven't checked back in. A cousin has agreed to sell me her Amburgey dulcimer. We will need to get it appraised and/or agree on a price. Ken, I now realize your name was given to me as someone to contact for guidance. She has no idea of the value and I have researched sales but they are all over the place. She is a dear person and I want to make sure she gets the full value or what it's worth. It is such a sentimental thing for me I get tears when I talk about it. I know how to negotiate but I don't believe that is going to have a place in this. Actually the story with this dulcimer is worth .ore to me than if it were a lower number or anything like that. Any suggestions how to proceed? I'm in NC but plan on coming to Ky to pick the dulcimer up and visit people as I grew up in Kentucky.
Hi Mac, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.
Welcome Mac to Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer from a fellow North Carolinian. Glad you joined. How interesting about the family ties to Jethro Amburgey. This is a wonderful place to learn. Join in the discussions, ask questions. And make lots of dulcimer friends.
In changing my photo I also added the photo to the comments I believe. Testing to figure out how to remove it. LOL
