Finishing Poplar- What should I use?

I am getting ready to make a psaltery bow for my neighbor. It's an inexpensive bow but I want it to look as good as possible. I'm making the bow out of poplar. I have some nice pieces. Do you all have any suggestions for the finish? I do have some Tung oil and paste wax left over from the last project.
