Any hope for this mistake?
HELP! I am so kicking meself in the arse! I've been working on a beautiful dulcimer that I thought was going to be my "masterpiece." I've had people make comments like, "Ooh, that's going to be a museum quality piece of artwork!" Been striving for perfection like never before, and I made the biggest, dumbest most preventable mistake I've ever made in 35+ years of building dulcimers!
One of the soundholes I cut extends over the edge of the side. I didn't even notice it until I already had the whole thing glued together, fretboard and all, and started shaving down the sides. Is there any hope for fixing this or making it look better? I've woodburned a dogwood branch over the whole top and cut out a few of the blossoms for soundholes. PLEASE tell me there's something I can do about it!
Thanks,
Molly McCurdy
