That's nice to have a look at a Hummel in USA. It looks like made from oak? Oak wood was often taken for Hummels in north Germany. I just have a big Hummel from Danemark for restauring in my workshop. This instrument originally comes from Elmshorn - next to Hamburg. Zither pins are traditional but guitar pegs or mandolin pegs are more comfortable when you want to tune to mixolydian or aeolian tunings. Look at www.ulrich-instrumente.de Wilfried
