I am a beginner. I first got my mountain dulcimer about 5 years ago. I played a little but then my husband got sick and I didn't realize until today that I have not touched my dulcimer in about 4 years. I went to the old web site and was surprised to find that everything has moved to this new site. I am hoping to start practicing again soon. My life has been turned upside down in the last 17 months. But am starting to get back on an even keel. Hope to make some new friends here. I live in Michigan and love it here.
"I so want to learn how to play my dulcimer like I used to. And I was not good at it but I did it just for myself. I will get there."
Connie, I believe the goal is to have fun exploring and learning and finding joy in the process. So in that respect, you are already 'there'.
Hi Connie- Glad to see you have made the trip over to our brand new online home here!

welcome Connie glad ya joined the FOTMD family...
You should look for a teacher or a club in your area. That would help you get a good start. Or you can look on you tube for instructions too.
Welcome to FOTMD Connie, also to another Michigander.
Hi Connie, we look forward to hearing about your first dulcimer when it arrives!
