I bought this Cherry Warren May Dulcimer for my girlfriend for Christmas out of Phoenix on ebay.
It is marked:
9/ 81,
Warren A. May
The Upstairs Gallery
114 Main St,
Berea KY40403
#1295
Well that Warren May Dulcimer I bought for my girlfriend for Christmas finally arrived yesterday! I must say I've never seen such good packing, double boxed, peanuts, bubble wrap and foam pipe insulation, with "FRAGILE" marked all over it. Was definitely worth the price of the shipping from Phoenix to Manitoba.
It was real cold yesterday, made sure it sat four or five hours before she opened it. Took half an hour getting it unpacked! It is her first dulcimer, and she loves it, and is anxious to learn to play.
It is a way nicer dulcimer than mine or any I have ever played. I thought those tuners would give me aggravation, but again, way smoother than my friction tuners. After I straightened out the bridge that was on almost sideways, it only took me all of 5 minutes to tune (DAAA). She sounds just beautiful, really bright for lack of a better word.
Anyways, next time I'm in the market for a dulcimer for myself I know exactly what I'm looking for!
Great David, I know she will enjoy it. Warren builds some fine dulcimers.
David, that's wonderful news about your girl friend's dulcimer. You two will have a great time playing tunes together.

Thanks Dan, thanks Robin! I'm hoping she likes it too. She doesn't play yet, but she takes quite an interest when I'm playing my dulcimer
Sweet!
I hope she loves it and has all kinds of fun playing music, David!
