The Brink of the White Rock (trad. Ireland)

musician/member name: Music
Duration: 00:03:08
description:
This beautiful love song came to us from the Blasket Islands (Gael. Na Blascaoidí), a group of seven islands and a hundred of rocks located off the Dingle Peninsula (Gael. Corca Dhuibhne) in the county of Kerry in the Republic of Ireland. There are several versions, including this one, covered nowadays by many singers (e.g. Séamus Begley and Mary Black) and groups (e.g. Clannad, Clanú, Solas...).
• The dulcimer used (all walnut) was an FSHW Folkcraft Instruments model :

built in March 1996 in Winsted (CT, USA).
• The dulci-T-shirt was a gift from my nephew Valentin. May he be thanked for this.

Love that! There's a great book called "The Islandman" that talks about life on the islands before the people re-settled on the mainland.Perhaps you've read it.Tomas O'Cronin (Irish spelling different)..translated to English....funny thing,I'm thinking in French as I write this but know my spelling and choice of words could be wrong..Merci pour la belle musique!
