Hi Cheryl, I haven't recorded the baritone yet, but will do so in the next few weeks as soon as time permits. It is really spectacular. A deep rich voice with great mid tones. I have baritone strings on it but Dvid said it will also take bass strings if I ever want to turn it into a bass dulcimer. Right now I'm too enthralled with the baritone to think about changing a thing. The case, by the way, is not fiberboard, but thin plywood so it affords good protection.
Thanks Jan! I don't mind if its heavy either...just peace of mind to have some solid protection! Davids work is very nice....the fit and finish is wonderful and the sound is full and resonant. I bet your baritone is terrific. Do you have a recording of it by chance?
Thanks everyone.. it really is a gorgeous dulcimer. David does such a nice job. I also have one of his baritone dulcimers and it has a sound that is just hauntingly beautiful.
Cheryl, you asked about the case. I bought it from Gary Sager at Prussia Valley Dulcimers. It's the oversized case. Just tell Gary that you have a Modern Mtn Dulcimer and he will know which case you need. This case is the best protection I could find for my new baby. It's a bit heavy but I don't mind that.
Hi Jan, What a lovely dulcimer...I love the look of Koa! I was wondering what size your case is as I have a MMD as well. I've just had mine for about a week and I'm enjoying it so much!!

Jan I love my Modern Mountain, First time I heard one knew I had to have one. The KOA is beautiful.
That definitely has the "wow" factor!
