Hey is there anyone on here from the Holly Springs Mississippi (Marshell Co) that knows or knew a woman named Mary Dixon.
i found a dulcimer made by her in 1989. Just wondered if she is still around wanted a little history on it maybe.
Hi Dana, My thoughts and prayers are with you. I just came across "Dana's Beginner videos to learn simple songs in chord style". I truly enjoyed them and will have my dulcimer students watch them too. I love your relaxed and down to earth way. Wishing you all the best. John

G'day Dana possum..thats completely understandable...oooh a parcel...i look forward to its arrival. Mail to down here takes between 7 and 21 days... which is pretty good when u consider it takes 3-4 days to get mail from a city thats a 2 hr drive away. I have been thinking of you. How are you travelling after such a big change in your life?
Oooh, thats surprising and exciting. Let me know the shipping cost and i will send it back to you via Paypal.
Well Helen it's been a while and I've had a lot going on but your package finally got mailed last week! It was sent just regular post so it may take a bit to get to you. Sorry it took so long.

Ps. Great job on the festival! You ROCK!
Dana, my condolences on the loss of your sister.
On top of that, you don't need the added pressure of dealing with cancer. Here's hoping you will have a speedy and complete recovery, and be back to your active life. Be well.
Paul

Hello to all my friends on FOTMD I have informed most of my friends on FB but I would like to tell my friends here also about what I'm going though right now. I lost my sister unexpectedly on the 10 th of this month she was only 52. Then on Monday I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Seems I have had it for a while but the good news is my cat scan showed it has only spread to one lympnode. I am putting my daddy in the nursing home on Monday temp. So I can get some rest before my surgery. At first they said chemo and radiation but after cat scan may not have to have it. Won't know for sure till consult with oncologist on the 6th and surgery. I have a wonderful support system in my dulcimer family. I'll still be checking in from time to time an keeping up I love watching everyone's videos and hope to post some more of my own soon. :)
Yo Dana, what's up girl? You still around these parts? Stopping by to say howdy
Hi Dana, please check yor INBOX for my message- thanks!
G'day there Dana, it has been too long. You have been pretty busy writing plus local festivals. What else have u been up to? How did your Jamboree go this year? Did u get to many other festivals. I have been distracted a bit by a few minor health problems affecting my hands and feet....which u sort of need really. Has made me a grumpy old poo sometimes. It has limited my dulcimer and banjo playing quite a bit so I have been focussing on my Native American flute and my new instrument...a didgeridoo. It is very cool to learn and u dont need finger tips. My sister bought me a double NAFlute that should arrive in about a week and there is another Didge coming from my brother (my birthday today ). I played dulcimer on my back porch this morning and managed ok with 6 bandaids. Other than that I am still managing to paint a bit on the good days and just got back to patchwork last week (am a beginner). If u have time I would love to hear how u are going. Helen xx
Hey there Dana possum. I wanted to drop u a line last night but ran out of time. I've been a bit busy getting my music practised and played at my two new venues, the Creswick Woollen Mill and local hospital nursing home. Finally seem to have it sorted so have jumped back on here...I have missed FOTMD, only getting a quick catch up now and then. I am looking forward to catching up on your stories of Pearl and Co. And it was nice to see your lovely paintings revisited. Its early morn here and I am up to drive a friend to the railway station. How are things going in the McCall household and in your world? Here my new gigs are going good. I had a lovely couple that I explained my dulcimer to put a $20 note in my hat on Sunday. Thats about $22 US dollars. Crikey! I might frame it. They said it was to make sure I keep playing for folk. I worked out how to play Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire. Its a hoot on dulcimer. Otherwise its the same old stuff here. Oh I joined an art group and am loving it. I did a log cabin series. A bit rough but I learn with each pic. Ooh, got to go. Talk soon. H xx
