I am married to a wonderful man and together we have 2 beautiful children... Our daughter is mentally handicap and is 36 years old and lives at home with us. My son is "forever 21"... He was killed in 2007 by a drunk driver........ Life after my son's death has been a struggle and I have decided that I'm not to old to learn something new so my husband, my mother in law and myself are learning to play the mountain dulcimer. It is relaxing, challeging and fun..... Learning a new song puts a smile on my face and it warms my heart.....

Welcome and I am glad the dulcimer puts a smile on your face. In loosing someone dear, I do feel the dulcimer breathes life back into our soul.

There are many places to get dulcimer music, tabs but if you are just starting I have found Margaret Wright's tabs to be clear, large and easy to read. Her site http://www.jerrywrightfamily.com/products.htm  -  About mid way down her Twelve Tune songbooks and toward the bottom her contact info, maybe start with the first 2 and see how it goes.

Also google dulcimer clubs that maybe close to your area.

I hope you continue to enjoy the sweet music of the dulcimer, this is a great site. Many of the members have videos or learning material to get you started, If you have any questions everyone here will be helpful.

Hi Julie Ann, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer.  It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.
