I was told this is a David Honea dulcimer made in 2016 mostly of walnut and cherry, though I have no current way of seeing into the soundholes to check the signature and number and therefore confirm this. ;)
@Ken-Longfield: I just noticed — it looks like his eBay seller's account is still active, but there aren't any dulcimers for sale, just Native American flutes like this one .
I also wish it had been longer. I was surprised at how many David Honea hits I came upon. I wondered if one of the obituaries was his, but none of them mentioned dulcimers. One would think that if some made 700 dulcimers it would be mentioned. I do hope someone will be able to provide more information.
