I took advantage of my catarrhic bass range to sing (or croak) Britten's "New Year Carol" - a setting of the Welsh folk song "Levy-Dew" as collected by Walter de la Mare.
This is a document of my progress: I hope to learn chords to accompany this.
Marvelous! I have one of those cardboard dulcimers and I love it too. It's fun to sit in the sun and not worry about a wooden one melting the glue. And so light and handy to carry around! I immediately recognized what it was by the sound.
You may have some trouble with the Benjamin Britten chords on a diatonic dulcimer, but I'd still play it with the notes I could find.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone.
My bad! Not a single accidental in that Benjamin Britten song! What a jewel of a find. Thank you.
