General mountain dulcimer or music discussions
Yes, Uke and Dulcimer.
Yes, Uke and Dulcimer.
Well I made the plunge 3 months ago and bought a Kala Ziricoat Tenor and couldn't be happier. I actually have learned more about music since I've had this. Yes I still put many hours on my Folkcraft, but what fun the Uke is.
Email Mike @ Mobilesheetspro, he gets back promptly and will answer all your questions. Great program
Glad to know I'm not the only one. Really am trying to lighten up.
"Exploring Genesis" by John Phillips. Wonderful insight into Genesis.
Just bought the Tascam DP 008ex. Do I know how to use it yet? Still reading. It is a 8 track recorder, they say cd quality.
Music Sheet pro the way to go.
Repetition, For me anyway. Over and over again. Then on to line 2, or Measure 3, either way. But always loving it.
I'm sitting here in my home office, music room man cave(when my wife of 11 years come 6/3/16)(I'm 62@ retired) lets me have it. I thought I was the only one that had issues playing in front of people.
I have had something in me, and have been trying to find it for 45 years, I found it. Dulcimer. After a year and a half I can only play 5 or 6 songs with out tab. Gospel and Messing with Sugar Hill. Thanks John K. But I know a little bit of a lot of songs. I try John Henry, thanks Dusty.
Most nights I will play to keep up what I know and try to add more songs. At a certain time I find that songs I could'nt play 6 months ago are attainable now.
Guess I play because it feels good to me. I pay attention to you all every day.
When Sandy and I get together weekly, our first tune is Boonie Doon. She plays harmony and I melody. Then Softly and Tenderly followed by 5 Tull Glazner Gospel songs we play w/o tab. We are working it.
Thank you for that detailed explanation. Now I understand.
Thanks Susie, want to see pics when you get it.
Very nice, thanks.
Susie, curious, will you have a pickup installed?
Susie, Probably Feb or March.
Thanks for your help John. Are we there yet, are we there yet.

When she returns I'll find out exactly. Maybe it can be fixed.
I've never heard of a complaint about the TK Obrien before, David.
She just doesnt care for the sound. Not clear enough for her.
Was that you Dan in the CG?
My playing partner has a TK Obrien. Shes not happy with the sound. Not trying too be rude.
I have classes with Dave H AND John Keane in KY festival in Jan. Pray for good weather. Really looking forward to it.
Dana, I also (key word) am a survivor of stage 4 NHL Agressive B Cell cancer. In remission for 7 years by GODS Grace. My wife and I are praying for you healing and fears put to rest. Lord touch Dana. Give her peace and Faith.
Hi Rob, Dave in Sallisaw, Ok. Sure would like tab for Battle of the Somme.
Thanks Ken, Don't know why I did'nt see this, been there from this site. Your reminder will stay with me for awhile. I will save this site.
Not sure about this Dulcimer, me being fairly new am suggesting she find a at least a student Dulcimer.
My friend just got this Dulcimer. Need to replace the strings. They are very small, their bass string looks to be about 012,just a guess. What size recommended and what tuning. Hopefully compatible with me at Dad. Any other thoughts would be great. Like I said its small with 21 3/4" VSL.
