Can you help me ID this song?
General mountain dulcimer or music discussions
Cannot help with song title but I just love the little accordion in this video! Makes me wish I had one like that. Very pretty melody indeed.

I was wondering if the Brazos Valley Dulcimer Club is still active. I saw a website that advertised Brazos Valley Dulcimer Club in the Granbury, Glen Rose, Stephenville area (Texas). It was dated 2009...and to contact Peggy Freeman. I did send an email but it was kicked back. Let me know if you know anything!
Thanks!
Diane, I have a beautiful Bonnie Carol dulcimer posted on this site in the for sale area - since you are in the market for another dulcimer. Let's chat. I may have the deal for you! And I love Ron Gibson dulcimers as well!
Oh my goodness, this is just awesome! Thank you so much for sharing!
Good ideas. A waiter's tray table, how clever. And yes Cindy, I would like a picture and some measurements.
This stand is the one that you can lay your instrument on and play while standing. I hope there is one out there somewhere. Thanks.
Yes, I was thinking this through and it didn't make sense - but adjusting the bridge makes perfect sense!! Again thanks to all for your help. Much appreciated.
Thanks and I did try this with the dime and nickel. The dime test was good, however, the string was way above the nickel at the 7th fret. Apparently, I have an instrument where the action needs to be lowered. Thanks to all who shared information. Now to find someone to do it!
Look what I found on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysNByKoB5tE
I used his template and it measures 2.5mm at the 7th fret.
How do I measure so you get a better picture?
I was wondering if other MMD owners find the action to be high? I recently acquired a fairly new MMD and the action is killing my fingers!
Ouch Terry - not a good thing to happen. Please take care and I agree with another post to stay hydrated. Hope you are up to doing that gig next week!
My friends and I just recently played at a nursing home and decided to just go up and down the halls caroling instead of having the director and aides bring the seniors to us... It worked out quite nicely. We paused where people were in their rooms and sang a couple tunes and moved on. Our set is about the same as has been mentioned previously, but we added Go Tell It On the Mountain and they clearly know that one and will/did sing along!
FYI, I would like to direct you to the 'for sale' part of this site. I have two lovely High Spirits Flutes for sale.
Thanks!

Would the Red Tail Hawk be a good choice for an adult beginner with small hands? I'm considering the Sparrow Hawk in A, but haven't decided yet.
I have a Sparrow Hawk in A that is brand new. I would like to sell. Let me know if you are interested.
Jessica, I was the one that inquired about this MD and thanks to everyone for their help and info. I just got an email from the people having the estate sale and they said this was on the instrument: "The dulcimer is from the Dulcimer Company in Fredericksburg, Texas. It is priced $125.00 and appears to be in excellent condition."
So I suppose I should go buy it?
This was spotted at an estate sale in Texas. No maker's mark anywhere. Not sure of the age.
