Thanks for sharing that information. I haven't liked the slot head screws either. I will have to try this on one of my dulcimers that still has the Champions on it.

That's a great idea.  I never liked the slotted bolts either.

Never liked the slot head bolt. Could never get the tension right and always risked damaging the slot. I changed them out by using 1.25" number 6 socket head bolts. Allen wrench is easier to tote and my tuners work much smoother. Here is a picture of them on my 30" scale baritone, which was a bugger to tune before the conversion... Robert.
