@luthier, there are literally dozens of dulcimer players who offer online lessons.  Before recommending any, I would ask what style of dulcimer are you interested in playing. While some, such as Stephen Seifert, could teach any style (noter-drone, chord melody, flatpicking, fingerpicking, etc.) and any style of music, others specialize.

But there are also plenty of free lessons online.  I would suggest you peruse YouTube and identify a player or two whose style speaks to you most and then contacting them if you do indeed seek more formal, individual lessons.

My "standard" recommendation....Nice lady, easy to follow, and free lessons!

There are many lessons available online, but it depends upon what you want to do. Do you want a one-on-one lesson  with Zoom or FaceTime? Do you just want video lessons where you can watch, play along, etc. Some folks that came to mind are Steve Eulberg, Mandy Tyner, Stephen Seifert, Bing Futch, Brett Ridgeway. There are many, many others. Internet searches will bring up many websites and contacts. If you the style of play you want to try, look for an instructor that teaches that style. If you just want beginning lesson look for someone who starts with the very basics, like starting with the string side up while on your lap. Sorry I'm not being very specific. It's just that there are so many instructors out there. Also, if you are near a dulcimer festival, many offer beginner workshops.

I just joined FOTMD. I play fiddle, guitar and am learning the dulcimer. I am wondering if any members offer online lessons, and if not, does anyone know who might offer online lessons. I sure do thank each one of you.
