Hey thanks so much for the warm welcome! This looks like a really coolplace to be, and with nice people....I'm looking forward to reading about, learning much, and sharing the dulcimer love. I'm very new to the dulcimer, but I was used to playing the guitar and missed it sorely, so I knew I'd love it....which is why I just went ahead and invested in what I wanted right from the start...the McSpadden. I recently discovered that I wasmakingdulcimer playing more complicated than I really needed for it it to be. I kept thinking I always needed 3 finger chords (so used to guitar), but I really don't. With osteoarthritis now in my finger joints and wrists, that was a beautiful revelation, let me tellyou! From all that I've been watching, such beautiful music can be played withmerely 2 finger chords (or just 1 finger) much of the time, so it's much more comfortable for me. I don't even miss the guitar anymore. Maybe when I retire and have more free time, I'll experiment around with different tunings and such, but for now it's all I can do to stick with D-a-dd. Anyway, finally a way to express myself musically again. (this icon is dreaming of allshe can write, play and sing - fun icon choices here....nice!)
Howdy and welcome to the FOTMD gang!
