I would be honored Helen. Feel free to use it. I've got 70 originals posted on my main website and they are all free downloads. Life is all about giving and sharing eh?
Thanks Dan, Anne, and Lexie for the listen and kind words. As I said it was a "starter tune" for me and i'll be the first to admit it's a bit redundant.. needs at least a bridge of some sort someplace...but it was fun to do and helped me to get used to playing on my lap, which is an alien world for a guitarist!
As for the "Whistlepig", aka..woodchuck or groundhog...there are several species. Here's more info if you're interested:
Love this .. I like the way they attribute a black sense of humour to it ...I'd like to see one chuckling ...
A report in 1833 by the New Hampshire Legislative Woodchuck Committee illustrates the attitude of some people towards this animal. In part, the report states: "The woodchuck, despite its deformities both of mind and body, possess some of the amenities of a higher civilization. It cleans its face after the manner of the squirrels, and licks its fur after the manner of a cat. Your committee is too wise, however, to be deceived by this purely superficial observation of better habits. Contemporaneous with the ark, the woodchuck has not made any material progress in social science, and it is now too late to reform the wayward sinner. The average age of the woodchuck is too long to please your committee.... The woodchuck is not only a nuisance, but also a bore. It burrows beneath the soil, and then chuckles to see a mowing machine, man and all, slump into one of these holes and disappear....
You know it's Spring when a woodchuck (or "Whistlepig as they call 'em down south) appears on your lawn! My MD was custom made by Harold "Wooly" Turner from Pickens, SC. This was my first tune with it.
I like it

I like them..as long as they stay OUT of my garden!
Wonderful tune. We call them prairie doggies or goffers out here on the prairie of MT. I think I like the name "Whistlepigs" better.
What a great tune and a wonderful animal..

Great tune and great playing, Pine. It brought back memories of my "whistlepig" hunts with my Granddad when I was a yung-in.
