It could be Lisa. I know there are a lot different patterns on the known Prichard dulcimers. No two are the same.
Ken is Prichard definitely known to have made some dulcimers where he painted on interesting patterned finishes? (as opposed to other owners painting those dulcimers later on)
It's good that you are capable of taking such detailed closeup photos. There are several knowledgeable members of this site who are experienced about antique dulcimers, some have already responded to your pix. I'm sure a few more will chime in.
I don't know Strumelia. It has me puzzled too. I don't know if it is original or added sometime later. I just need to find someone who is knowledgeable and can certify that this dulcimer is original. Yesterday, when I was handling it while taking pictures, a curled up piece of tape or label fell out of one of the "heart" holes. It is very yellowed and does not have any kind of writing on it that I can see. I did save it in case it can provide any clues. I have found out that there is a dulcimer festival in Evart Michigan each year, but with Covid, I'm guessing it may not happen this year. I'm will be looking into if anyone can get me intouch with someone that can help. I'm on a mission now, LOL! Thanks again!

"The dulcimer sings a sweet song."

I wonder if that odd painted decorative finish was a crude folk art attempt at creating a painted 'tortoiseshell' finish.
