I built my first dulcimer in 1979 and I'm working on number 159 right now. I have started using "reclaimed woods", some were city trees rescued from the landfill, turned into lumber, then into instruments by me. I use these woods and woods that I know are fully sustainable, all from the USA and (rarely) Canada.

Hi WildMeadow, and welcome to the wonderful world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.
