Cheryl, I sent you an email- you need to go to Gail's profile page and click the "Follow" button so you can exchange PMs. She is already 'following' you, but you need to do it back.
(traded my 1st one in on my TK O'Brien at Mike Clemmer's shop)
I was interested in TK O'Brien dulcimers, so glad to see you have one. Can you tell me about it, I was able to play several in a shop in Black Mt. last weekend and thought they all played very well.
Kind of you to offer to donate Cheryl! :) If you care to donate $5 or $10 that would be awesome- just go to our Main Page and click on the Paypal donation button at bottom of page. Thank you!!
I deleted the thread for the sold dulcimer, by the way.
Hi Cheryl, That IS news - moving! Where to? I hope you'll plan to stop by this winter. We'd love to see you!

Cheryl - thanks for the note! So busy, I am, that it takes months to get a reply in unfamiliar forums! This is a really cool community and I'm trying to stay on top of things here - so thanks for the post and hope to see you on the road soon!

I know - it's been a long time since I have been here. Things just get in the way and need to be taken care of. I did play in a gig this past Saturday in Chattanooga at Mountain Music Folk School Pancake Breakfast with Christie Burns and 2 other musicians. Was nervous but that went away quickly. Had a lot of fun.

I also have several pictures posted of us playing at the Mt. Dora Christmas walk which is an event hosted by Mt. Dora where there is music, entertainment, food and the stores stay open late at night. Cheryl,Noticed that you were in Maine for vacation. Grandkids are fun aren't they? You mentioned before, that you were having a dulcimer made for you. Will it be done so you can pick it on your way home?

Hey, glad you like the looks of my dulcimer. To answer your question. The Top is made from Sassafras, the sides and bottom are cherry, and the fret board is walnut. I got it as a kit . We were in Colorado two years ago, and I ordered it. They even burned my name into one side ot the fret board. To me it looks great and sounds the same.

Well, it has been a little over a week since I last saw what will be my new dulcimer from Laurel Mountain. When we were there last Wednesday, I saw the sides, the back in clamps, the fretboard, the peg head, picked out the tuners, saw the inlay she was going to put on - now I'm just waiting for the finished product. It isn't easy waiting for a dulcimer that you custom ordered to be done. Can't wait!!!
