Hey, Dusty, no problem. I realize that most people don't sit around looking at dulcimer sites all day, but that is one of the advantages of being retired.

@ken-longfield, sorry to make you work so hard! winky I was busy working all day yesterday and then spent the evening driving to SF to pick up my daughter at the airport.  I didn't check in here until I got a break from work today.

@lilley-pad, no it's not in my book, although there are a few other Playford tunes there.  Yes, by all means take it to DJ's jam. I'm hoping to join you all in July, in fact.

I have a handful of other Playford tunes arranged.  Feel free to reach out directly if there's one in particular you're interested in.

The facsimile copies of Playford's collection all seem to be hard to read, but this version arranged for the flute by James Hall is clear and modern: https://pdfcoffee.com/playford-tunes-pdf-free.html .  You can download the whole thing from that site. What is not obvious, of course, is the chording, so I try to listen to a few versions to learn whether an individual tune is generally played in a minor or major key. Beyond that, the exact chords are not included in the books, so (just like O'Carolan tunes) we have to use our own judgment and trust our ears.

I created tab for that tune some time ago.  It is transcribed in Playford's collection in the key of Gm, but I tabbed it in the key of Em out of a DAd tuning.  See attached.

Well, I've achieved some success. I found sheet music for The Goddesses by Playford at MuseScore. There is a piano arrangement in Gm and a violin arrangement in Dm. Here is a link where you can click on whichever version you want: piano, guitar, flute, or oboe. I have a busy schedule for the next two weeks so I won't have time to tab it out until the second week of July. Someone else may be able to get to it before that.

The Dancing Master is a book of dance tunes by John Playford's published in1651.   The book went through 18 editions if I recall correctly. Here is a link to an index of all the tunes in the first edition. One of the titles in this edition is   The Godesses #1 . The image of the music isn't very clear so it is hard for me try to play it or tab it out. I'll continue searching to see if I can find a clearer image. Perhaps you can check with English Folk Dance and Song Society to see if a contemporary version of sheet music is available for the tune which can be used to make a dulcimer arrangement. Hope this helps in your search.

I think I need help trying to locate a tab for a song from the 1651 I believe the name of the tune is  Goddesses?   Someone said that it's also called  Quodlings Delight. Don't know if that's necessarily true or not. Any idea where to track down the tab here for this song?  I tried the internet but not having much luck, I did find a couple tutorials and lessons but no tablatures. It looks like an easy song to play.   okay that's it thanks for all the help you guys hope everybody's doing okay and staying out of trouble. SMILE
