The Ash Grove

Artist: JenniferC
Duration: 00:01:21

Description:
From Mike Casey's book, "Hands on Dulcimer". This piece for 4 equidistant strings, played on my new to me 1972 5 string fiddleside, after removing one of the melody strings.

Jennifer: Thank you for sharing your video......beautifully played! You have a soft sweet touch to your playing! Ash Grove is one of my favorites! I also wish I had someone to play the dulcimer with.

What a nice compliment,  Cynthia, thank you!  Wish I lived next door, too!  I'd love to be able to play with someone.

Thank you,  Dulcina.  The words to this piece invoke, for me,  a slow,  contemplative tempo.   I really like the sound of the slower pace on many songs.   I've just started working on Ashokan Farewell,  very excited to learn it!

Hi Jennifer, Very nicely played.  One of the groups I play in plays it way too fast.  And Ashokan Farewell is my favorite song also. Dulcinina

Thank you,  Jan!  This particular arrangement has been fun,  and mostly simple to learn and play,  except for the Barre chords,  which are a bit harder for me with the extra string,  lol.

Very well done!  I've never learned to play with 4 equidistant strings, so I'm quite impressed!
