Kathy, I have a Bear Meadow Concert Grand by luthier Dwain Wilder. I will attach photos of it on this response. It has a number of custom touches such as, ebony fret board, extensive fret board inlay by artisan Bernie Lehmann, gold tuning machines, evo gold frets, chromatic fretting and a built-in electric pickup. Her voice is clear and the sustain is marvelous. It can be tuned as a standard dulcimer, or with heavier strings, as a baritone. Its' size lends itself to both of those tunings. It is not big, but it is slightly larger than a traditional dulcimer, both in length and depth. It is in a plush, hard case, form fitted for this instrument. I am considering selling it since I don't play the chromatic tuning that often. An instrument as fine as this one should be in the hands of someone who will play it more. You email me directly if you would like more information on this instrument.
I am sure we have seen each other at Fall Festival at Unicoi. If you follow me, we can send private messages and I can give you my contact information. I am having serious dulcimer withdrawals. The dulcimer I brought with me did not arrive in very good condition. It was the only one that fit in the suitcase.
Hi Kathy, and welcome to the world of the Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer. It's a good place to come, spend some time, learn about the dulcimer, and to meet some good people.
