Tigger's a back sleeper too. If he can't find a blanket to sleep under and brace his paws against, he looks for a wall to sleep against. Cats are so cute when they're asleep. Or when you can catch one sitting up on it's back with a leg or two hanging out in the air that they seem to have forgotten about.
Yeah, those poses remind me A LOT of what Tango does all the time!
Speaking of getting a psychological advantage over an animal that's potentially tougher than you are--like Tango and the bobcat--here's a video of a neighbor's rabbit that doesn't let their dog bully it into submission. Anyone remember the Monty Python skit about the "attack rabbit"?
Ye,s those seem to be normal length legs. When my Tigger poses that way, he is begging to be gone over with the lint roller. Cats are strange critters.
"Road kill kitty" is good! Tango seems to assume these wildly amusing poses when it gets hot, I guess because he's got long hair and is trying to cool off. But we have a lot of hysterically funny (at least we think so) photos of Tango that are along these lines. He's also really good at looking cute and adorable, like when sleeping in a flower pot.
Amazingly the only local animal he seems to have tiffs with is a bobcat. So far I've seen him chase it up a tree (got photos of this) and chase it out of "his" territory. Happily, it's a small bob cat who doesn't seem to realize that Tango may be exceeding himself.
Hi Lisa,
Good fiddle tune name! Reminds me of Jere Canote's tune "Sadie at the Back Door."
I love that pic of Tango on the Doorstep ! great name for a fiddle tune too- why don't you compose one, Peter?

HE sure looks comfortable in his environment to lie on his back like that. They do look so funny and cute when they sleep like that.

That is typical of Ragdolls.....mine both sleep that way.
