What a nice present for your SIL to give you. Cardboard dulcimers are so fun to play they can sound great as well!
I've found it's very handy to have an instrument that is so portable and without too much worrying about it.
I haven't posted anything in a while, so here's a view of me in my backyard on Easter 2023, under my apple tree and in front of my plum tree (and you can see raspberries in the background too) playing a cardboard dulcimer my sister-in-law gave me.
