I am a beginner with the dulcimer, too. I am enjoying it a great deal. About my only previous musical experience was playing a trumpet in junior high and recently singing in my church choir. I hope to post a video soon. I am working on "Wildwood Flower." My wife made a video of me playing it last night, but still too ragged. I hope to see more of your videos.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Yep, the banjammer has been fun - I find myself in a little bit of a round-robin - trying to decide what to play and what to play it on
I am excited about the song - and I appreciate your kind words!
Thank you so much for the kind words about my tribute to my dad!
You were right on about him - he was one of the hardest working people I have ever known. And his family was EVERYTHING to him. He was left with no family in his teen years- a long sad story. So when he married my mom and us kids came along - well, you understand! I miss him so very much, but it sure does my heart good when someone listens to Amazing Grace and realizes just how special he was and is, and how much this dulcimer means to me! Thank you again!

Hi Bobby! I'm sorry to hear about your loss! We lost our boy dachshund Rocky 2 years ago. It's very tough. But our girl Sugar was so lonely without him that we got a puppy, named Pony. They are inseparable. I think this will be the never ending cycle. After Sugar goes, pony will need a puppy , and on it goes!Thank you for your kind words about my music. Hope to hear you play soon as well!Guy
Bobby, I am not sure I ever responded to your question about the banjammer - but yes, it's a Clemmer. There is a pretty special story behind it that I thought I had posted here, but maybe not - so will update that soon.
Thank you for the kind words regarding Life's Railway! I really appreciate you listening and commenting. It was certainly a special project for several reasons
I hope all is well with your family!
My son is home - to stay - and this mom is very proud and very happy to have him here!

Hi Bobby,A huge congrats to your granddaughter also!!! Your seat was probably better than ours...hahaha!I know what you mean about the spelling.....I can't tell you how many times I hit the wrong key....and sometimes spellcheck just "fixes" it for me....like I really needed help in that department!I hope you are having fun with your music!Keep strumming and smiling!Cindy
Hello Bobby, in response to your question on my videos. Again, I'm no expert but I am fortunate enough to have a little Cannon camcorder which I use to film myself. Then I upload or download whatever it is into my computer. The video files are huge, to big to send anywhere or upload to FOTMD so I found a free video converter on line called "Any Video Converter" I use it to compress the size of the video file and voila I can load to FOTMD. I'm amazed at what I've learned about technology since joining FOTMD.

Thats great Bobby. My baritone by Ron looks very similar to yours and is all cherry. Yours looks so nice too. I feel a baritone touches your soul but I love my standards too. Thanks for the links. To make a video I just use the webcam on my five year old laptop. No microphone, just the sound the laptop picks up. Seems to work ok. New tune video coming soon. Happy strumming. Guitar players make great dulcimer players.

Ron has done a beautiful job (as always) Bobby. I am out today but will see if I can put together tab. My pc skills are bit limited so I will probably send it on a message like this. Its all fretted on the melody strings (double string) except for two notes that are fretted on the middle string. A good starter tune and sounds nice real slow or a bit faster. There are some good books of beginner tunes available on ebay. My beginner book is the only one with a blue cover. Its has about ten great beginner tunes. Just jump in and strum Bobby. I recommend a clip on tuner. About $15 at music stores or online. Makes tuning a breeze.

Thanks Bobby, you too. By the way love the little Dachsund pic.
Thank you so much for the kind words! This project was as much a blessing to me as anyone! While I know that no one here knows the people in the photos, we all have family and roots, and I hope each of you can "fill in" with those you love
I too have a jackalope on my wall (office). It is proof positive that belief in Peter Pan is reasonable!!!!!
Thank you for the kind words and birthday wishes for Dylan! His eyes lit up when he read the comments which I shared with him!
I understand the lonely feeders.....we haven't seen any around here since mid-September.
I shared your hummer pictures with mom and she LOVED them!!! Thank you for sharing them with us!
I hope all is well.....and you are enjoying your music!

Thank you Bobby! Haha - I won't tell you how many times my fingers got tangled up before I got it somewhere close to being right

Bobby, if you go to my photos, I have a picture of the banjammer. Under the banjammer I just posted the story about it.
Hey Bobby, got your comment. Thanks for listening. Great to hear from you.

love the dachshund photo!!! I grew up with them because my grandfather was a breeder. Such lovely, albeit stubborn, dogs!
Thank you for the encouragement re playing the MD.
