My husband built my dulcimer as a surprise Christmas gift a few years ago. Learning to play has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

In relation to the lute dulcimer you mentioned last year, here is a mandolin dulcimer that Eric Holland created several years ago. He never made another, but he did make a YouTube video of the build here:

i happen to be the lucky buyer of this hybrid dulcimer and it has a wonderful sound! He plays snippets of several tunes on it at the end of his video. With your talented husband, this video, some time, your could end up with one, as well! Or even use the video to adapt to hybridizing a lute!
Dear Marsha - I'm sorry to take so long to respond - I just ran across your request as I am on the road ( taught at a festival in Mississippi and currently in New Orleans for Mardi Gras) and have not signed in to this website for awhile. I would be happy to send you a hard copy of the Dulcimervillefile when I return home at the end of the month. If you would like the MP3 file now, I can e-mail it to you as well. Please send your e-mail address to me at pandry1@frontier.com and I'll attach the file and send it to you as soon as I can get to a site with a wireless server that will handle the rather largefile. Sorry for the delay - but thanks for thinking of me. Paul
Marsha I just saw the picture of your little cabin it is beautiful and it does look like the cabin in my picture just the chimney is on the other end. I love your cabin.
