I did have it customed made. The top is KOA and the fretboard is ebony. I'm not sureof the brandof the tuners but they work well. I asked for black to match the fretboard. It is set up for three strings which I prefer, but you can use double melody if you want to put the extra string on. It also has a pickup installed. It sounds wonderful. It has that true mountain sound. I would have another one built just like it if I was going to invest in another Clemmer. I own several Clemmer's and have been pleased with them all.
You have the prettiest Clemmer I have ever seen! Did you have it custom made? What is it made of, and what kind of sound does it produce? Can't tell what kind of tuners you have. Are you playing yours as a 3 string? That is what I prefer, but most of them are designed for 4 or more like mine.
Thats exately what I ordered too, the Flat Head. I also didn't like to handle the Scroll Head. Will Manahan also has a Clemmer with flat had, there I got my inspiration that I want the Clemmer that way. Still lovely, your Dulcimer ....
Yes, I asked for the flat head because I have a harder time with scroll heads when replacing strings. I also have the false bottom and pick-up. Thank goodness Mike is use to my unusual requests. The picture doesn't do the head stock justice because you can't really see the grain of the wood which is awesome. It reallyplays well and sounds awesome. Mike and Connie are just the best people you would ever want to know. Did I mention I was lazy when it comes to re-strining?
I just love the Clemmer's. They are such good people. I own several of Mike's dulcimers, banjammers, and other assorted works. I just picked this one up this week. They are worth waiting for. Y'all enjoy.
Mary,
That's a pretty thing you got there. I love that carving.
Love that koa :)

Miriam,
I know you will enjoy it. Hope we meet someday and get to play together. Enjoy!
