Well when I was a child he was already over eighty years old :) And I didnt know anything by him at all (German radios didn't play him, just Jonny Cashs cover of his Ghost riders in the sky).

When I was a child (50-some years ago!), the chorus to this song is one which it seemed everyone knew yet I rarely heard the verses.  Thank you for posting the lyrics!
