Cigar box guitar pix and some blues

musician/member name:
Duration: 00:00:58
description:
An acoustic playing sample and some pictures of a cigar box guitar I made a few months ago. I'm still learning to play this thing. I was aiming for 12 bar blues, but it could really be anywhere from 11 and a half to thirteen. My musical timing isn't the best. All electronics are from Radio Shack. The pickup is a piezo that I re-engineered with a hammer. GDg tuning. I have a dulcimer with the same strings, scale length, and tuning. This guitar sounds a lot better.Next time, I'll plug it in.

Thanks to all who took the time to watch. I don't have much time to play this, so I'm not any better at it yet. Thinking ahead to the Mk II design, though. That will have a built-in amp, and use a sink drain for the soundhole with a rubber stopper for a mute.

Nice work on the guitar Tom. I enjoyed the blues playing. Sounds like you will have great fun with that instrument.

That's cool looking Tom. Love the bridge and the nut. Can't wait to see another video with it plugged in. Glad the hammer worked for the pickupGrin.gif
